Ducati finally bring the tech-loaded baby Multi to India

  • The BS6-compliant motor develops 113PS and 96Nm.
  • Features semi-active Skyhook suspension and LED lights with cornering lights.
  • Bookings for the bike had already commenced for RS 1 lakh.
  • Just two days before the global unveil of the Multistrada V4, Ducati has launched the BS6 Multistrada 950 S in India at Rs 15.49 lakh (ex-showroom) . The brand had already started accepting the bookings of the baby Multi for a token of Rs 1 lakh and deliveries are expected to commence later this week.

So, what does the ‘S’ suffix bring to the table? Well, a lot! To start off with, it gets Ducati Skyhook EVO semi-active suspension that features upto 400 parameters, bi-directional quickshifter, LED headlamps with cornering lights, backlit handlebar controls and a 5-inch console, complete with Ducati Multimedia System. Adding to the list are features like fully customisable riding modes and Vehicle Hold Control (VHC).

Powering the Ducati Multistrada 950 S is the BS6-compliant 937cc, Testastretta L-Twin engine churning 113PS and 96Nm. The baby Multi also packs a six-axis IMU from Bosch allowing for electronic aids like lean-sensitive traction control and cornering ABS. Braking duties on the BS6 Multistrada 950 S are handled by twin 320mm discs clamped onto to Brembo monobloc 4-pot caliper at the front and a 265mm disc with 2-piston caliper at the rear.

The Multistrada 950 S gets a 19/17-inch wheel setup and the Italian brand has slapped on Pirelli Scorpion Trail II rubber at both ends.

At this price point, the Multistrada 950 S is the priciest amongst its competitors, the Triumph Tiger 900 GT and BMW F 900 XR which retails at Rs 10.5 lakh and Rs 13.7 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), respectively.
