Tata Motors To Set Up A New Manufacturing Facility In Tamil Nadu

Today, Tata Motors has announced that it will set up a new manufacturing facility in the state of Tamil Nadu. The Indian marque has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the state government and exchanged it in the presence of the Thiru M.K. Stalin, the honorable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. 

Tata Motors has said it will be investing around Rs 9,000 crore in its new manufacturing facility over a span of five years. It has also said that this new facility will create up to 5,000 jobs, both direct and indirectly. 

A point to note is that this is the second big announcement of a manufacturing facility that’s being setup in Tamil Nadu. In February, Vietnamese carmaker, VinFast, laid its foundation stone in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu for its electric vehicle manufacturing facility. Tata Motors is gearing up for a busy year with plenty of vehicle launches lined up this year. Coming up soon will be the Curvv, which will be launched as an EV first then ICE, followed by the Harrier EV by the end of this year. Other expected models to be introduced this year include the Tata Nexon CNG and the Altroz Racer as well.
