Tata Nexon CNG is equipped with 120 PS 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine.
Comes with Tata’s twin-cylinder technology with a usable boot space of 230 litres.
Launch expected soon with a starting price of around Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Nexon CNG concept was among the main attractions for Tata Motors at the first-ever Bharat Mobility Global Expo. The subcompact SUV is getting the alternative fuel option for the first time with some impressive segment-first technology. The Nexon CNG will utilise the existing 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine, a first in the country. Here are all the details we know so far.

The Nexon CNG will be offered with the same 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine found in the regular Nexon, where it delivers 120 PS and 170 Nm. It will likely be offered with a manual transmission only at launch and may get an automatic transmission too, given the imminent arrival of the AMT variants for the Tigor CNG and Tiago CNG.
The Nexon CNG will be the first in its segment to feature a factory-fitted CNG kit paired with a turbocharged petrol engine. It will also implement the carmaker’s twin-cylinder technology, which Tata mentions will provide owners with a usable boot space of 230 litres.

The Nexon CNG will have plenty of comforts to offer with top-end variants equipped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto/ Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch digital driver's display, a wireless phone charger, cruise control, and keyless entry with push button start/stop.
On the safety front, it will be equipped with six airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX mounts, electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

Prices for the Tata Nexon start from Rs 8.09 lakh (ex-showroom), and we expect the Nexon CNG to start from Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom). Upon its launch, it will compete directly with the CNG variants of the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, as well as the ICE-powered variants of the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV300, and Nissan Magnite.
