Maruti Jimny Deliveries Now Underway Across India

Buyers of the Maruti Jimny can rejoice as the carmaker has commenced the deliveries of the SUV. It’s priced from Rs 12.74 lakh to Rs 15.05 lakh (ex-showroom) and is available in Zeta and Alpha variants. 

Bookings for the Jimny have been open since January, from the Auto Expo 2023, for a token amount of Rs 25,000. Prior to the launch, Maruti was touring the Jimny at different Nexa dealerships, but now, it’s available to check out at all the showrooms. You can also head out and test drive the off-roader.

The 5-door Jimny is a true off-roader as it gets 4X4 with a low-range gearbox and brake-limited slip differential as standard. Performance is developed by a 1.5-litre petrol engine, which is good for 105PS and 134Nm. Transmission duties are handled by 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic options. 

For comfort and convenience, the Jimny features automatic LED headlamps, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, cruise control, and auto AC. Safety is guaranteed by six airbags, a rear camera, ESP, hill hold/descent control, and ISOFIX child seat mounts. 

The off-road alternatives for the Maruti Jimny include the Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha. While the 5-door Jimny is a more practical offering than the Thar, the former is still a four-seater offering. However, it can be also seen as a rugged and more capable alternative to the subcompact SUVs.
