Suzuki has launched the Made-In-India Jimny 5-door in Australia as the Jimny XL. It looks very similar to what we get here, but there is one BIG addition that isn’t offered here. This lifestyle off-roader from Maruti Suzuki is exclusively manufactured in India for global markets and is sold alongside the 3-door Jimny in Australia. Take a look at the Jimny XL in more detail.

The major addition that the Jimny XL gets over the India-spec model is the inclusion of ADAS features like adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, and dual camera brake support system.

The Jimny XL gets a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, automatic climate control, cruise control, keyless entry, and connected car tech. It gets six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, brake assist, ISOFIX mounts for the child seats and ADAS features, as mentioned.

Under the hood, the Jimny XL is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine, producing 102PS and 130Nm, and can be paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission. For a limited period in December 2023, the Jimny 5-door received a price revision in India. The updated pricing for the Jimny 5-door starts from Rs 10.74 lakh and goes up to Rs 14.05 lakh (ex-showroom). It locks horns with SUVs like the Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha, both of which are presently available only in their 3-door variants.
