A brand new Maruti MPV will be unveiled on July 5. It could be called Maruti Engage and will be a rebadged version of the Innova Hycross. The new Maruti MPV is another by-product of the Toyota and Suzuki partnership, where both companies exchange their products and technologies.

The Innova Hycross is around 4.5 metres in length and gets the choice of seven and eight-seater configurations and we will see the same with the Maruti MPV. The exterior styling will be different from the Toyota, as seen with both of their compact SUVs.

The Hycross is offered with a 2-litre petrol engine, which also gets the option of strong-hybrid technology. The hybrid powertrain is rated at 186PS and up to 206Nm and claims an efficiency of up to 23.24kmpl. The non-hybrid petrol engine gets a CVT transmission, while the hybrid version gets an e-CVT (single-speed transmission). The same powertrain and technology will also be offered on the Maruti MPV.

Safety is covered by up to six airbags, ESC, a tyre pressure monitoring system, a 360-degree camera, and front and rear parking sensors.
