Is Honda Bringing The CBR250RR To India?

With over 40PS on offer, the new patent filings have piqued interest, but…

Honda has filed a design patent for its CBR250RR in India. The patent was filed earlier this year and has been journaled on May 5, 2023. With the CBR250R gone, is Honda planning to fill the void with this supersport? We sure do hope so, but that’s unlikely to be the case.

The Honda CBR250RR joins the long list of products from the manufacturer that won’t grace the Indian roads, but are patented here anyways. Honda primarily does this to safeguard its design in our country.

But would it make sense for Honda to have the CBR250RR here? Well, a quarter-litre parallel-twin dishing out 42PS and 25Nm does sound interesting, right? And backing that performance are premium bits like Showa Separate Function Big Piston USD fork, petal disc and electronic aids like quickshifter and three riding modes.

And these are also the very reasons why the Honda CBR250RR would be an expensive proposition. So, if you are on a lookout for a supersport, the KTM RC 390 is the safest bet… until the Yamaha YZF-R3 arrives in the coming months.
