In Pictures: Royal Enfield Scram 411 & Honda CL300 Compared

How does RE’s Indian scrambler compare to Honda’s international scrambler?

The sub-500cc scrambler segment has seen multiple interesting entries in the past year, and two of them have to be the Royal Enfield Scram 411 and the Honda CL300. So here’s how the bikes compare in images.

Let’s talk about appearances first. The Honda CL300 looks absolutely gorgeous with minimalist styling and retro looks, based on its older sibling CL500.

On the other hand, the Royal Enfield Scram 411 tries out a more muscular approach with funky panels  and colours to be more appealing to the younger crowd.

Powering the Honda is a 286cc, liquid-cooled engine belting 26PS, paired with an assist and slipper clutch.

The Scram 411 gets a 411cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine producing 24.31PS and 32Nm. Despite the 125cc advantage, the Scram is actually lower on power. The CL300 also has a more advanced liquid-cooled motor.

Underpinnings on both bikes are the same – Telescopic fork and dual shock absorber setup, and disc brakes at both ends with ABS. They even run on the same 19-/17-inch wheel setup. However, the Scram 411 gets spoked wheels, whereas the CL300 gets alloys.

With 200mm of ground clearance, the Scram 411 would be an easy ride off road, when compared with the CL300‘s road clearance figure of 165mm.

While sadly the Honda CL300 is unlikely to debut in India, the Royal Enfield Scram 411 is available here at a sticker price of Rs 2,03,085 (ex-showroom Delhi).
