Even though Tata Motors launched the updated 2023 Harrier and Safari with new features, we do know that an extensive facelift is in the works. Basically, the Harrier EV displayed at Auto Expo 2023 previewed the design changes set to be applied on both vehicles and the latest spy shots of the updated Safari reveal plentiful new details.

This is the first time the facelifted Safari has been spotted with production-spec LED headlamps which seem to be vertically stacked. Above the unit is the new grille design and what looks like the LED DRLs spanning the entire width of the dash. In profile, you can see the redesigned alloys underneath the camo, while the rear-end is expected to get revised tail lamps and bumper.

An earlier look at the interior of the Harrier revealed minor design changes. The steering wheel controls will have gloss black and silver touches, while the gear lever for the automatic variants has been carried over Land Rover cars. Apart from that, the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and 7-inch digital driver’s display will be carried forward as well.

Underneath the hood, the 1.5-litre T-GDI petrol engine that debuted at Auto Expo 2023 could make its way into the facelifted Safari. It will be sold alongside the 170PS, 2-litre diesel engine. Both units should get manual and automatic transmission options, with the petrol engine likely to get a DCT.
