Ducati plans to unveil five new models at the EICMA motorcycle show, including the most powerful Scrambler till date

Ducati Scrambler 80

The Ducati Scrambler, tuned to handle almost all walks of life easily, pleased us all when we rode it in India. But for the thrill-seeking enthusiast, the engine felt a bit relaxed. Ducati might have been listening to our prayers and now, a more powerful Scrambler will be showcased at the upcoming EICMA motorcycle show.

The new Ducati Scrambler 1100 is most likely to be equipped with the same powerplant that powered the earlier Ducati Monster 1100 - an air-cooled, 1078cc, two-valve engine that produces 96.3PS with 102.9Nm of torque. However, the way the power is delivered will be tweaked to serve its new purpose in the guise of a Scrambler.

Expect the Ducati Scrambler to not only get a bump up in the engine department but dimensionally as well. The trellis frame chassis will also be modified to accommodate the new motor and might also be stiffened up to handle stress better. We can’t wait to see how the Italian manufacturer positions the bigger Scrambler, with the numerous variants that the Scrambler lineup currently has.

Currently, the 801cc, air-cooled Scrambler generates 76PS of peak power an 67.8 Nm of peak torque and is offered in five variants – Icon, Classic, Full Throttle, Cafe Racer and Desert Sled, with prices starting from Rs 6.78 Lakh (Ex-Showroom, Delhi). Ducati India will also launch the new Scrambler Mach 2.0 in our two-wheeler market soon.
