The Skoda Kushaq’s Feature List Gets A Slight Rejig

Some bits are now standard, while top-end features make their way down to the lower-end variants

Sure, the Skoda Kushaq has been on a bit of a feature downgrade recently with the 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system making way for an 8-inch unit due to the global semiconductor shortage. But the carmaker continues to tinker around the SUV, and now has silently rejigged its feature list on a positive note.

So what’s changed in the Kushaq? Well, for starters, the 8-inch digital driver’s display which was exclusive to the Monte Carlo trim, has now made its way to the Style trim. It's the same digital instrument unit found in the Slavia sedan. Another rejig comes in the form of the push button start feature which is now standard on all trims of the Kushaq.

Before this and the downsized 8-inch update, the Kushaq recently gained a non-sunroof Style trim, which shaved off Rs 20,000 over its sunroof-equipped counterpart, limited to the 1-litre TSI 6-speed manual powertrain combination.

Skoda also offers the Kushaq’s 115PS 1-litre TSI mill with a  6-speed automatic gearbox. The other powertrain option is a  150PS 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine which can be specced with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG automatic unit.

The Skoda Kushaq retails from 11.29 lakh to Rs 19.49 lakh (ex-showroom). It takes on the likes of the Volkswagen Taigun, MG Astor, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki S-Cross, and the Nissan Kicks. It’ll also face competition from the upcoming Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder as well as is Maruti counterpart soon.
