Skoda India has accomplished a landmark by selling 1 lakh cars in the last two years across all segments. The Czech automaker also emphasised that it has achieved this feat in the shortest time in its India operations, which took six years before the introduction of the Slavia and Kushaq. Locally developed and produced Skoda models, like the Kushaq and Slavia, which are part of Skoda's India-specific product strategy, are the primary reasons behind this sales feat from the carmaker. Additionally, in 2023, Skoda expanded its network to 260 customer touchpoints across our shores, enhancing the Czech marque's reach across India.

Skoda India recorded sales of 48,755 in 2023, which is a decrease from the 53,721 units sold in 2022. The company attributed this decline to supply chain issues and production related constraints. Skoda also highlighted that their fresh launches of the Kushaq and Slavia with plenty of special editions majorly contributed to their 2023 sales, while the Kodiaq experienced a hundred percent surge in sales compared to 2022.

Commenting on achieving this milestone, Petr Janeba, brand director, Skoda Auto India, mentioned that it was crucial for Skoda to maintain momentum through 2023 after achieving record sales in 2022. He also added that the brand focused on consolidating its position by continuously enhancing the product range and expanding the dealership network.
