It is limited to the 115PS 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
It loses out on the 8-inch Virtual Cockpit instrument cluster and automatic front wipers compared to the sunroof-specced Style.
It is more affordable than the sunroof-spec Style by Rs 20,000.
A sunroof, which was once a luxury feature is now a common staple bit in plenty of models in India. But not everyone fancies having them in their car. In that respect, Skoda has silently introduced a non-sunroof version of the Kushaq's top-spec Style trim at a price tag of Rs 15.09 lakh. Here’s how it compares to the sunroof-equipped Style:
Variant |
Ex-showroom Price |
Style 1.0-litre TSI MT Non-Sunroof |
Rs 15.09 lakh |
Style 1.0-litre TSI MT |
Rs 15.29 lakh |
Of course losing the sunroof means the Style becomes more affordable by Rs 20,000 over its sunroof-equipped counterpart. It’s limited to the 115PS 1-litre TSI 6-speed manual powertrain combination. This ain’t the first Skoda model that gets a non-sunroof iteration of the same variant as the Slavia sedan also gets one.
The Kushaq’s 1-litre TSI petrol mill can also be specced with a 6-speed automatic gearbox. For those who want a bit more grunt, you can also opt for the 150PS 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine which can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission.
Being a Style variant without a sunroof it continues to feature bells and whistles such as an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, height adjustable driver seat, Skoda Connect, a 6-speaker sound system, as well as a rear-view camera. That being said it misses out on a few features such as the 8-inch virtual cockpit instrument cluster, automatic rain-sensing front wipers, auto-dimming IRVM as well as a smaller spare wheel.
The Skoda Kushaq currently retails from Rs 11.29 lakh to Rs 19.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Its rivals include the Volkswagen Taigun, MG Astor, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki S-Cross, and the Nissan Kicks.
