The Toyota Innova Crysta will soon be launched in India and will come with two diesel engines along with a manual and automatic transmission option. Read on to know more.
The 2.4-litre diesel engine in the Innova will be a four cylinder turbocharged engine. The engine will make 149PS of peak power and 343Nm of peak torque. The car will be mated to a manual gearbox and will be available in 5 variants. The 2.8-litre engine will also be a four cylinder turbocharger unit and will make 174PS of peak power and will put out 360Nm of peak torque. The 2.8-litre engine will come mated only to an automatic gearbox and will be available in two variants. In addition, the higher powered variants will also get a better level of NVH damping package.
Although there are no details about the petrol engine yet, the leaked brochure shows a petrol tab which means that there will most certainly be a petrol engine with about 160PS of peak power on offer. The new Innova Crysta will be available only in a rear wheel drive layout and will not get an all-wheel-drive or four wheel drive layout. The petrol too will get a manual and an automatic variant to appeal to a whole range of audiences.
The new Toyota Innova Crysta will be launched on May 3 in India. The expected prices for the new Innova Crysta will be higher than the car it replaces and is expected to cost between about Rs 12 lakh ranging all the way up to 20 lakh or so for the top of the line variants. Expect the Innova to sell really well and go up against cars like the Hyundai Creta and the Mahindra XUV500 amongst others.
