The facelifted Hyundai Grand i10 Nios’ evolutionary design changes make it look a tad sportier. The cascading grille is now larger, flanked by a pair of aggressively styled faux airdams housing the LED DRLs. In profile, the hatch rolls on a new set of alloy wheels, while the rear end features connected LED taillights à la the Venue.
Inside, the dashboard layout hasn’t changed, but the semi-digital instrument cluster has been replaced with conventional dials and a multi-info display. Plus, the upholstery has been revised and the interior can be had in three colour combinations: black/grey, black with green inserts and black with red inserts.
The Grand i10 Nios also sees a big boost to its safety kit, with the addition of six airbags (four are standard), electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitoring system and hill-hold control. And apart from the addition of cruise control, comfort features like an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment, climate control and steering-mounted audio controls have been retained.
Powering the Grand i10 Nios is a 83PS 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, teamed with either a five-speed manual or AMT. This engine can also be had with a CNG option, paired with a manual ‘box, that drops the power output to 69PS. The 1-litre turbo-petrol engine hasn’t been reintroduced with the facelift.
The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios locks horns with the Maruti Suzuki Swift, Tata Punch and Renault Triber.
