SUVs In Black: A List Of All Midsize SUVs Sold In India With A Black Theme


The Jeep Compass and MG Hector are the latest ones to join the list of SUVs available in a dark all-black theme

In today’s times, carmakers offer a wide range of colors including both mono- and dual-tone shades. However, a black-coloured car is something that most customers desire because of the sporty and stealthy appearance that the hue brings. In catering to the demand, carmakers have now started to offer their cars in all-black hues, either as themes or special edition models. The black treatment is usually also extended to the interior, which completes the all-black look of these cars

MG Hector and Hector Plus 

MG Motors India has given an all-black treatment to the Hector and Hector Plus, in the form of a special edition, called the Blackstorm, based on the sharp pro variants of both the SUVs. Jeep Compass 

Jeep has re-launched the Night Eagle edition of the Compass with the following color options: Pearl White, Brilliant Black and Exotica Red. The Compass, in the special edition, gets a blacked-out grille, alloys, badges, and roof for a sportier look. These blacked out elements paired with the Brilliant Black hue give the Compass a truly sinister look. The interior too gets an all-black treatment along with silver highlights for contrast. Mahindra XUV 700 

The Mahindra XUV 700, in the model year updates for 2024, was featured with the Napoli Black colour which was made available across all its variants. If you opt for the higher-end AX7 and AX7L variants, you will see that the grille and wheels have also been blacked out, which makes the SUV look even more attractive than before, especially when paired with the Napoli Black hue. Tata Harrier and Safari 

Tata has a special love for dark editions. As seen in recent times, Tata has offered Dark editions for many of its cars including the Tata Safari, Harrier, Nexon and Nexon EV. The Harrier in the Dark edition gets a blacked-out bumper, grille and skid plates, along with the ‘Dark Edition’ badges. The interior, too, gets a black treatment for the dashboard and upholstery. 

The Safari in its Red Dark edition gets all-black interiors with red colored seats giving it a sportier appeal



The craze for a black colour car has always been there among Indian customers, so much so that some buyers even wrap their cars up in black. It is good to see more and more carmakers giving them what they want so that they don’t need to look for aftermarket solutions.
