The Mahindra XUV 3XO has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs 7.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Mahindra offers the XUV 3XO in nine main trim levels: MX1, MX2, MX2 Pro, MX3, MX3 Pro AX5, AX5 L,AX7 and AX7 L. The MX1 being the base model misses out on a lot many comfort and convenience features, but hasnt compromised on the safety bits. Here’s a run-down of everything you get and miss in the base MX1 variant.

The base MX1 variant misses out LED headlamps and fog lamps. Instead, a basic halogen projector headlamp setup makes its way. You do get LED DRLs and turn indicators on the ORVMs though. The gloss-black grille and bumpers remain unchanged.

The side profile gets blacked out A and C pillars with body coloured door handles. Roof rails are a miss-out and the black 16-inch steel wheels do not get wheel covers.

At the back, the MX1 variant misses out on rear defogger and wiper with washer. Also note that the central light element of the connected LED tail lights do not light up. The MX1 variant also misses out on a roof mounted spoiler and an antennae.

The base MX1 variant of the XUV 3XO retains the dual-tone interior theme as its higher-spec trims. It misses out on an automatic climate control unit and rather gets an electronically operated manual AC. Automatic climate control and dual zone AC is reserved for higher variants.

The base MX1 variant misses out on an infotainment screen, steering mounted controls, speakers and a digital driver’s display.
Being the base trim, there is no sunroof to be seen as well.

That said, safety hasn’t been given a miss here as you get most of the kit such as six airbags, electronic stability control, all-wheel disc brakes, and rear parking sensors.

Being a base variant, it does miss out on leather upholstery, and rather gets fabric seats. A rear central armrest is also a miss but for added comfort, you do get rear AC vents.

The base MX1 is offered in just a single engine and transmission option. It gets the 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine (110 PS) mated to a 6-speed manual transmission only.
Notably, the automatic transmissions and diesel engine options start from variants upwards of this trim and the T-GDI turbo petrol engine option is limited to the top-spec AX7 and AX7L variants only.

The Mahindra XUV 3XO MX1 variant is available at Rs 7.49 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom). It competes with popular models such as the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Renault Kiger, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, and Nissan Magnite, along with the upcoming Skoda Sub-4m SUV.
