Today, MG Motor India has announced its future plans for the Indian market. All of these future plans were made by the new entity ‘JSW MG Motor India,’ the new name for the joint venture that was formed by MG Motor India’s parent company, SAIC and JSW Group, that was formed in late 2023.
But that’s not all, as the carmaker not only plans to introduce plug-in hybrids, but will also be launching one new model every three to four months, starting from September 2024. Along with revealing its future plans, MG has also showcased the Cyberster EV, which is a two-door performance model.

The highlight was MG’s plans to introduce one new model every three to four months starting from September 2024. These cars will be manufactured in India and will be boasting a high level of localisation to ensure its competitive pricing.
Along with that, the carmaker has made a strong push towards cleaner mobility. And on this front, MG said it plans to introduce plug-in hybrid vehicles down the road. No specifics on this or regarding what model will be introduced, but it must be noted that models like the Hector get a strong-hybrid option in Indonesia.
Along with revealing its upcoming plans, MG Motor India had a surprise in store: showcasing the Cyberster performance EV. It looks the part with a sporty design, scissor doors, an upmarket cabin and, most importantly, plenty of punch with an anticipated power figure of over 500 PS. MG Motor India’s current lineup includes the Comet EV, Astor compact SUV, Hector / Hector Plus midsize SUV, ZS EV and Gloster full-size SUV. Recently, MG slashed the prices of the Comet EV and Hector, while the Gloster facelift has also been spotted testing in India. The carmaker has also introduced a new variant with the ZS EV, making the panoramic sunroof more accessible.
