It could debut as early as 2024
Hot on the tail of the Ather 450S’ launch, Ather Energy CEO Tarun Mehta disclosed in a recent interview that Ather could be working on an all-new electric scooter. Moreover, this upcoming e-scooter will not be as sporty as the 450X, but will be focused more on comfort and convenience.
And yet, it won’t be a very commuter-style scooter –like the Honda Activa or the TVS Jupiter – either. Instead, it would be more comfort-focused. Why? Back in 2021, Ather patented a design for a maxi-style e-scooter, however, this was claimed to be only for reference purposes, and won't really make it into production.
Ather’s upcoming scooter could be based on the same platform as the 450X, as it is pretty sorted and has proven quite successful, and will be something similar to what Aprilia did with the SR160 and SXR160. Oh, and this scooter may also debut by 2024.

This scenario makes quite some sense, considering the 450X is pretty great in terms of rideability and hardware, but a bit too sporty for some riders. The new addition, then, could combine the sporty nature of the powertrain and chassis package with a more comfortable riding experience.
Summing up, it is still too early to speculate any other details of the upcoming product, but you can check out what we felt about the Ather 450S in our first ride review.
