- Prices likely to start from around Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India).
Skoda India has teased the Slavia’s interior design ahead of its November 18 global premiere. The upcoming compact sedan’s cabin is almost a xerox copy of the Fabia hatchback, and this only corroborates our earlier report.
Here’s a quick comparison to set the context:
The Fabia has a clean and minimalistic cabin design, so for the Slavia to resemble that isn’t bad at all. The dashboard is finished in black/beige, adding to the premium look and feel. A contrasting orange strip runs along the dashboard width, lending character to the design. A sensible India-specific touch is the recessed cubby hole on the dashboard to place an idol.

Like the Kushaq, Skoda has played around with the texture of the plastics. Features like the touchscreen infotainment system, steering wheel, touch-based climate controls, and gear lever will be shared with the compact SUV to keep costs in check.
The Slavia will be the first model in its segment to feature a fully digital driver’s display. Other likely creature comforts include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, a single-pane sunroof, and cruise control.
Passenger safety should be taken care of by six airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors with a camera, and electronic stability control.
The Slavia will use the Kushaq’s 115PS 1-litre and 150PS 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engines. The latter, which makes segment-leading numbers, will get a segment-first cylinder deactivation tech for improved fuel economy.
