  • The facelifted model gets a new grille, DRLs, and recessed LED headlamps.
  • The cabin will feature a new 10.25-inch digital driver’s display borrowed from the Alcazar.
  • Other notable features include a Bose sound system, connected car tech, and a panoramic sunroof.
  • Mechanicals likely to remain unchanged.
  • India launch in the second half of 2022.

Hyundai will officially take the wraps off the facelifted Creta at the 2021 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) scheduled from November 11-21. But ahead of that, the SUV has been spotted sans camo, and here’s how it looks. These images also give us a proper look at the Creta’s new fascia.

Hyundai’s latest version of the cascading grille dominates the front end, flanked by new parametric jewel hidden-type DRLs integrated into the grille. The headlamps are similar to the 2022 Tucson. The new wheels are the only change on the side, while the rear now features revised tail lamps. Overall, we’d say a positive first impression.

Inside, there is no major change to the dashboard design, save for the introduction of the 10.25-inch digital driver’s display. We reckon Hyundai could spruce it up with updated upholstery and colours to keep it up with the times.

When it comes to features, the SUV will get a touchscreen infotainment system with connected car tech, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a panoramic sunroof, a Bose sound system, and keyless entry with push-button start. Passengers should be secured by up to six airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, and electronic stability control.

The facelifted Creta’s powertrain options have yet to be divulged. But the India-spec model should retain the 140PS 1.4-litre turbo-petrol and 115PS 1.5-litre diesel and petrol engines. Hyundai could also use this opportunity to offer a 6-speed clutchless manual with the 1.5-litre petrol engine like the Seltos

The carmaker will likely bring the facelifted Creta to India in the second half of 2022. Prices should start from Rs 10.5 lakh, putting it in the same league as the VW TaigunMG Astor, Skoda Kushaq, Kia Seltos, and the Mahindra XUV700’s 5-seater variants.
