Toyota Innova Crysta 2.4 Automatic Launched; Now BS6-Compliant

The 2.8-litre diesel engine has been discontinued from the lineup
- The Innova Crysta is available with a 2.4-litre diesel and 2.7-litre petrol engine.
- The 2.4-litre diesel gets a price hike ranging from Rs 59,000 to Rs 1.23 lakh.
- The 2.7-litre petrol variant sees an increment of Rs 31,000 to Rs 63,000.
- The Innova Touring Sport is also Rs 31,000 to Rs 1.00 lakh more expensive now.
- Deliveries will commence from February 2020.
Toyota has announced that it has started accepting bookings for the BS6-compliant version of the Innova Crysta and the Innova Touring Sport. And to our surprise, Toyota has discontinued the 2.8-litre diesel engine from its lineup. The Innova Crysta and the Touring Sport now come solely with the option of a 2.4-litre diesel and 2.7-litre petrol engine in both automatic and manual guise.

As you can see, the BS6 upgrade has taken a hit on the pricing. Petrol variants are now dearer by Rs 31,000 to Rs 63,000 while the diesel variants are now Rs 59,000 to a whopping Rs 1.23 lakh more expensive depending on the variant. The 2.4-litre diesel VX MT variant sees the biggest hike at Rs 1.23 lakh. The Innova Touring Sport receives an increment of Rs 31,000 to Rs 1.00 lakh. Further, Toyota is also offering a new base ‘G’ diesel variant, which is priced at Rs 16.14 lakh.
Deliveries of the BS6 Innova Crysta and Innova Touring Sport will begin from February 2020. The sole oil burner on offer is the 2.4-litre diesel (150PS/343Nm). The petrol engine is a 2.7-litre unit that develops 166PS/245Nm. Both engines come mated to a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Toyota is also offering Vehicle Stability Control(VSC), Hill Assist Control(HAC) & Emergency Brake Signal(EBS) as standard across all variants.
That said, these updates will also trickle down to the Fortuner. We expect an announcement in the coming weeks. Currently, the Toyota Innova Crysta is priced between Rs 15.36 and Rs 24.06 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
