Suzuki’s TVS NTorq 125 Rival Arrives Tomorrow

It will likely be a sportier version of the Access 125

[UPDATE: The Suzuki Avenis has been launched in India. Check out our launch report for more details on this sporty 125cc scooter.]

Contrary to what we thought earlier, Suzuki is not going to be launching the Burgman Electric. Rather, the Japanese manufacturer seems to be rolling out a new 125cc scooter, one that will take the TVS NTorq 125 head on. And it looks quite similar as well.

From the little that we could make out from the teaser, the upcoming Suzuki scooter has lots of design elements, like the trapezoidal headlight, twin triangular tail lamps, an overdose of cuts and edges, a digital LCD screen and more, all of which looks like the sporty TVS scooter.

We expect Suzuki to plonk in the same trusty 124cc motor from the Access 125. On paper, the engine output (8.7PS and 10Nm) might suggest it is tuned for frugality, but it happens to be one of the quickest 125cc scooters we have tested so far. Besides, this new Suzuki scooter might just be lighter, and hence even quicker.

In terms of features, we could make out that it gets an engine kill switch, LED headlight, and a full digital dash similar to the one found on the Bluetooth versions of the Access 125 and the Burgman Street 125.

We expect Suzuki to price this sporty 125cc scooter in between the Access 125 and the Burgman Street 125. Hence, it will likely be priced around the Rs 85,000 mark, putting it right on par with the TVS NTorq 125 Race XP variant. Suzuki will be taking the curtains off the scooter by 4pm, tomorrow. So stay tuned to ZigWheels.
