Suzuki Burgman Electric

Suzuki’s electric two-wheeler plans revealed, here’s when the first EV is set to debut. Since the Suzuki Burgman Electric was spotted testing almost in a production-ready form on the streets of Pune, we expected the Japanese brand to launch its first electric scooter for the Indian market soon. However, in an interaction, Suzuki India officials confirmed that the launch of the Suzuki Burgman Electric scooter has been delayed by a couple of years. Find out the reason for the delay here.

Design-wise, the Suzuki Burgman Electric looks similar to the Suzuki Burgman Street. It gets a telescopic fork, a disc brake, and a 12-inch alloy wheel up front. However, the rear uses a twin shock absorber setup. The rear wheel is also smaller, likely a 10-inch unit, with drum brake and CBS.

The motor will likely generate around 4kW of power. Its performance could be equivalent to that of a 110cc petrol-powered scooter. Expect a range of around 90km, which should be sufficient for everyday commutes.

The Suzuki Burgman Electric will go up against the TVS iQube Electric, Bajaj Chetak, Ola S1, Vida V1, Honda Activa Electric, and Simple One. A more premium alternative would be the Ather 450X.
