    • Mumbai: 5

    • Hyderabad: 3

The cult motorcycle manufacturer plans to have 105 dealerships across the country under the first phase. Out of this, 64 will be operable from tomorrow i.e. 5 December, 2018. Bookings for the Jawa and Jawa 42 are already open. Customers can also take a test ride and book offline at the dealerships from 15 December onwards. One can book both motorcycles online as well via the company’s official website by paying a fully refundable amount of Rs 5,000. Deliveries are set to begin from the first quarter of 2019. More details can be found on Jawa's official website.

Currently, only the standard Jawa and the entry-level Jawa 42 are available on sale. The Jawa Perak, on the other hand, is expected to go on sale in late-2019 or early-2020. Priced at Rs 1.55 lakh (ex-Delhi), the Jawa 42 is the brand’s most affordable model. The standard Jawa, which is priced at Rs 1.64 lakh (ex-Delhi), is essentially a more retro version of the Jawa 42. You can read more about how the motorcycles differ here.

Powering the regular Jawa and the Jawa 42 is a 293cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine which produces 27PS and 28Nm. It works alongside a 6-speed transmission. For added safety, the bikes feature a single-channel ABS as standard. Jawa’s products seem to be a more technologically advanced yet delightfully old-school looking alternatives to the Royal Enfield Bullet and Classic range.
