Roadster Key Highlights
Price: Price: The Yezdi Roadster is available in 3 variants: Dark, Dual Tone and Chrome. All three variants are priced at Rs 2,09,879, except for the Chrome Sin Siver variant, which costs Rs 2,12,642 (both prices ex-showroom).
Design: The Yezdi Roadster looks more along the lines of the Harley-Davidson Roadster instead of a true-blue cruiser. The wide handlebar with bar-end mirrors, flyscreen, and blacked out theme in the Roadster Dark range exude sportiness whereas the tall windshield, metal finish on the powertrain and exhaust, lighter colour schemes in the Chrome range make it quintessentially laidback.
Features: Yezdi has equipped the Roadster with a single-pod multifunction digital instrument cluster that shows the real time mileage and range, apart from the other run-of-the-mill information. Both variants of the Roadster feature a cushioned backrest to ensure good pillion comfort. The bike is also equipped with dual-channel ABS with three modes: Road, Off-road and Rain.
Engine: The Yezdi Roadster is powered by a 334cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, OBD-2 compliant engine, producing 29.64PS and 28.95Nm at 6500rpm. Even though the motor is based on the Jawa Perak, it has been tuned differently to suit Roadster’s demeanour. The engine works alongside a 6-speed transmission. The engine has also been tuned for better refinement in addition to complying with the new emission norms. Yezdi has also equipped the Roadster with redesigned exhausts, and a larger rear sprocket which should result in better low-end grunt.
Suspension, Brakes & Other Details: Yezdi has equipped the Roadster with a telescopic fork and twin rear shock absorbers. It offers a 135mm wheel travel up front and 100mm at the rear. The bike comes to a halt using a 320mm front disc and a 240mm unit at the rear, with dual-channel ABS. The ABS is also enhanced by Road, Off-road and Rain modes.
Rivals: The primary rival of the Yezdi Roadster is the Royal Enfield Meteor 350. You can also take a look at alternatives in the price bracket such as the KTM 200 Duke, Honda Hness CB350, Royal Enfield Classic 350, and the Jawa Forty Two 2.1.
Variants: The Yezdi Roadster comes in three colour variants: Dual Tone Crimson, Dark (Smoke Grey, Inferno Red & Glacial White) and Chrome (Sin Silver & Gallant Grey). The new model is also available in Rush Hour Red, Forest Green, and Lunar White, and Shadow Grey (single-tone) colour schemes.

- I thought roadster was the only one which didn't had Bluetooth connectivity. Is this available now?
- Let’s start with the engine. Just like other Yezdis, the Roadster also has a 334cc motor, but look closely and you can see that the engine case doesn't have the Yezdi boxy design but it looks similar to that of the Jawa. The first thing that you will notice on the Roadster is the urgency of the engine. The short-stroke motor loves to revv and the Yezdi Roadster is properly quick. It’s reminiscent of an energetic puppy that just wants to play and feels fidgety sitting idle. That's the same case with the Roadster, it wants the rider to have a heavy right wrist and have loads of fun. Being a short ride around the hills of Lonavala we couldn’t test the cruising ability of the bike, but the peppy nature made corner exits exciting. Another impressive bit of the Roadster is the light clutch and the slick six-speed gearbox. Also, the exhaust note is throaty and by BS6 standards, the Roadster does sound pretty loud. But it isn't perfect. One thing that will put you off is engine vibes, even at speeds as low as 40kmph you can feel a buzz on the handlebar bar and the footpegs. Even if you keep the minor vibes at bay, the mechanical noise too is loud and the engine could do with a dose of polish. The peaky nature of the motor means that we aren't sure if it will be easy to ride and be tractable at city speeds, but we will have to wait for a proper road test to confirm the same. Moreover, we would suggest you take a test ride before making the final decision, follow the link and select your city accordingly for dealership details.
