V4-powered Ducati Multistrada To Launch In 2021

The Ducati Multistrada range of adventure tourers has become one of the most successful lineup of bikes for the Bologna-based manufacturer after finding 1 lakh customers in just a span of 19 years! This achievement is quite remarkable considering Ducati isn’t into mass production the way its rivals are. The Italian marque recently held a celebratory event to mark the achievement while sharing interesting tidbits about the future of the range. The most notable piece of information was the announcement that the company is working on a V4-powered Multistrada, which is set to hit showrooms in 2021.
Ducati has been working on maximising the potential of its V4 engine, which made its debut on the Panigale V4. While it is unlikely that we will see a sportbike-tuned motor on a road-biased adventure tourer, we could expect the motor to have Panigale origins.
We expect the new Multistrada V4 to be offered in two variants - base and a more premium S variant which could come equipped with Ducati’s Skyhook suspension setup and a host of electronic goodies. Moreover, it could also get radar-based technology to help detect blind spots and also alert the rider of incoming vehicles at high speed from the rear.
While Ducati is expected to launch the new Multistrada V4 in 2021, we might get a glimpse of the pre-production version of it at the upcoming EICMA. And yes, the flagship Multi will come to our shores eventually, if that’s what you were wondering. However, Ducati will not be pulling the plug on either the 950 or the 1260 models.
