In today’s edition of Ducati madness, we bring you the Multistrada V4 RS. And you know when Ducati adds ‘RS’ at the end of a bike’s name, things are serious! After launching the Multistrada V4 Rally last week, Ducati decided to take the Multistrada V4 back to the asphalt and has now unveiled the Multistrada V4 RS and it looks and sounds absolutely mad!

For starters, it’s this Iceberg White livery with MotoGP-inspired graphics that looks smashing. And then the small wheels will tell you that this Multistrada rides on 17-inch wheels. And those wheels are shod with Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV Corsa tyres, equipment that you find on full-blown litre-class bikes. And yep, Ducati already has one 17-incher Multistrada in the form of the Pikes Peak, but the V4 RS’ highlight is the 1103cc V4 desmodromic engine derived from its MotoGP Desmosedici Stradale engine! In fact, even the dry clutch from the Panigale has been carried over to this Multistrada. Who would’ve ever thought a MotoGP engine could be used on an ADV? Only the mad folks at Ducati, that’s who!

And that means this bike makes a mind-boggling 179.5PS, making it the most powerful bike in its segment by a mile. Helping you keep the rubber in contact with the tarmac are the exhaustive suite of electronics. Riding modes, cornering ABS and traction control, wheelie control, a radar system, blind spot detection, and a lot more, the bike has it all.

And now comes the million-dollar question. Will this superbike in the guise of an ADV actually come to India? We think it will! Affordable? Heck no! The Pikes Peak costs Rs 31.48 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and the V4 RS could very well breach the Rs 40-lakh barrier. Hence, it’ll be an experience only a lucky few people will be able to attain. But those who will, will surely swear by it.
