BREAKING: Aprilia’s Latest Maxi-style Scooter Has Just Landed!

The SXR 125 takes the SXR’s maxi appeal and packs it into a more affordable package

If you were wowed by the Aprilia SXR 160’s Italian flair but dejected by its hefty price tag, then you’ve probably been waiting with bated breath for the SXR 125. Well, your wait is now over because Aprilia has just launched the SXR 125 in India at Rs 1.16 lakh. That’s around Rs 11,000 more affordable than its larger sibling, but that being said, it’s still a considerable Rs 30,000 more expensive than its nearest competitor, the Suzuki Burgman Street.

Arguably, the SXR grabs more attention than the Suzuki, with its flamboyant design and fetching colour schemes. It also trumps the Burgman in the power department, extracting 9.5PS from its 3-valve motor, compared to the Suzuki’s 8.7PS. It’s not just the dimensions that are large, even the SXR’s fuel tank is a sizeable 7-litre unit. Unfortunately, this comes at the cost of underseat storage space, which is quite limited.

Aside from the engine, the little SXR is fairly similar to its larger sibling and this is not necessarily good news. Though the seat is long and commodious, we found the ergos to be quite awkward, especially the handlebar placement. Even the floorboard isn’t as roomy as we’d like. On the upside, if the SXR 160 is anything to go by, we believe the 125 will be quite the corner carver.

If you’re looking for a quick, sharp scooter to get your thrills on, without breaking the bank, the SXR 125 is something you should consider. But if you’re in the market for a comfortable, practical, and roomy maxi-style scooter, you’re going to be left disappointed by the little Aprilia.
