Aprilia Tuono 660

The India-bound Aprilia Tuono 660 has been launched in Europe. Aprilia has finally brought out its production-ready mid-displacement naked and not much has changed from its concept, which was unveiled at EICMA 2019. The naked is slated to arrive in India by July 2021 with an expected price tag of Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). 

The bike uses the same parallel-twin 660cc engine as the RS 660, but in the Tuono, this motor produces 96PS, as opposed to 101PS in the RS and with a shorter final drive. The Tuono 660 is suspended on a 41mm USD front fork from Kayaba and monoshock, both fully adjustable. Radially mounted Brembo M4.32 monoblock calipers biting down on twin 320mm discs at the front bring the bike to a halt.

The basic chassis remains the same as the RS 660 but the Tuono gets a tall and wide single-piece handlebar, a smaller fairing than the RS, and a redesigned tail section with a more comfortable pillion seat. Also carried over from the RS 660 will be the comprehensive IMU-assisted APRC electronics package, which includes traction control, cornering ABS, five power maps, wheelie control, cruise control, engine brake control, and a quickshifter.
