- 2021 Kia Seltos to launch in May.

- Safety features like ESC and hill start assist are now standard from the HTK+.
- Continues to rival the Hyundai Creta, Mahindra XUV500, Tata Harrier, and MG Hector.
Kia Motors India has revealed the updated Seltos ahead of its launch in May. As part of its model year upgrade, the SUV now sports the carmaker’s new logo and gets additional features. Also, there’s the new clutchless manual (iMT) gearbox with the naturally aspirated petrol variants.
Considering these updates, we think there will surely be an increase in the price as well. The Seltos currently retails between Rs 9.89 lakh and Rs 17.45 lakh (ex-showroom).
Here’s more on everything that’s new on the Seltos:
First, The New Logo
The Seltos gets the new Kia logo, which debuted back in January 2021. It has been engraved on the grille, wheel hub caps, tailgate, and steering wheel.
New Features OnBoard
Paddle shifters are the only addition to the 2021 Seltos. However, a leaked document tells us that some other top-spec features have also been introduced lower down the order.
-
Sunroof and climate control, earlier offered from the HTX, will now come as standard from the third-from-base HTK+.
-
Paddle shifters are limited to the top-spec GTX+ automatic.
-
Safety features like electronic stability control, vehicle stability management, hill start assist, and brake assist will now be standard from the HTX onwards. These were previously limited to the higher-spec GTX and GTX+.
-
Remote-engine start (with the key fob) will now be offered from the third-from-base HTK+.
A New Clutchless Manual Transmission (iMT)
The Seltos’s 115PS 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol is now paired with Hyundai’s 6-speed iMT. It is the first time that a naturally aspirated petrol unit gets this transmission option. That said, the clutchless manual is only limited to the mid-spec HTK+. The 1.5-litre diesel and 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engines remain unchanged.
