Tata Altroz DCT To Be Offered In Three Trims, Will Come With 1.2-litre NA Petrol Engine

Tata Motors has commenced pre-launch bookings of the automatic hatchback ahead of its imminent launch

  • Altroz to get a 6-speed DCT.
  • It will be offered with 86PS 1.2-litre NA petrol engine.
  • New Opel Blue colour will be introduced with DCT.
  • Expected to command a one lakh premium.

The Tata Altroz Automatic, which will get a dual-clutch automatic (a first for Tata), is being prepared for launch after two years of its existence. Official pre-launch bookings commence from today for Rs 21,000; and the DCT will be limited to the XT, XZ and XZ+. Yes, yes… the DCT will be offered in the all-black edition as well. But, the interesting revelation is its powertrain.

Unlike what we were reporting before, the Altroz’ DCT will be paired with the 86PS 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol mill, and not the 110PS 1.2-litre turbo-petrol motor. The transmission is a 6-speed unit and will be sold alongside the 5-speed manual ‘box. Apart from this, Tata also offers the Altroz with a 1.5-litre diesel engine and 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine, both paired with the 5-speed MT.

Along with the launch of the Altroz DCT, Tata will introduce the new Opel Blue colour in the premium hatchback. It will be sold alongside the following options: Cosmo Black, Downtown Red, Arcade Grey, Avenue White and Harbour Blue.

Apart from the transmission and new colour, there are no changes to the Altroz’ features or design. You can have a detailed read about the Altroz by clicking these links below:

The Altroz DCT will command a premium of around a lakh, when compared to the Altroz’ 1.2-litre NA petrol trims priced between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 8.8 lakh (ex-showroom). The AT will lock horns with models like the Maruti Suzuki Baleno AMT, Hyundai i20 CVT/DCT, VW Polo AT, and Honda Jazz CVT
