Mahindra Bolero Neo’s N10 Variant Getting A Smaller Touchscreen?

• The Kenwood infotainment system features Bluetooth, radio, and AUX and USB connectivity.

• It allows steering-mounted controls for calls and music.

• It is slightly smaller and lacks vehicle info, alerts, and the BlueSense app support.

• The top-spec N10 (O) will retain the 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. 

• Existing N10 orders/bookings will be updated with the new unit

• All orders from now on will get the Kenwood infotainment system.

• The Bolero Neo N10 currently retails at Rs 10.30 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The Mahindra Bolero Neo went on sale in July this year as a more premium alternative to the Bolero. But the carmaker has been forced to slightly bring down that ‘premium’ quotient a notch for the N10 variant by switching to a smaller aftermarket Kenwood 6.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system in place of the earlier 7-inch unit.

So, why this sudden downgrade of sorts? Well, the carmaker claims it's due to a global chip shortage. Fortunately, the top-spec N10 (O) will continue with the bigger touchscreen infotainment system. 

The Kenwood 6.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system is equipped with the usual necessities like Bluetooth, radio, and AUX and USB connectivity. It also allows steering-mounted controls for accepting calls or switching music tracks. That said, vehicular information like fuel meter, car info, door/bonnet open alerts, and DRL on/off controls will be given a miss. The N10 will also miss out on the BlueSense app support present in the N10 (O).

If you’ve already ordered/booked the N10, you will be informed of the change to the smaller infotainment system in advance. Of course, new orders from now will only get the new unit. 

Currently, the Mahindra Bolero Neo N10 retails at Rs 10.30 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). So far, there has been no news of the carmaker slashing the prices for switching to the new aftermarket unit. The Bolero Neo is a rugged alternative to monocoque SUVs like the Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Hyundai Venue, Ford EcoSport, and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.
