For that extra dough, the N10 (O) comes with one additional feature: a mechanical locking differential (MLD) in the rear axle. It ensures that power is sent to the wheel with the maximum amount of grip. For instance, if the right rear wheel has less grip than the others, the MLD will direct all the power to the left rear wheel to keep the Bolero Neo going.

We experimented with this feature while driving the Bolero Neo for the first time and it worked flawlessly. The Bolero Neo is powered by a 100PS 1.5-litre diesel engine that drives the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission. Apart from the addition of this tech, the Bolero Neo N10 (O)’s feature list is identical to the N10. To know more about the Bolero Neo’s variant-wise feature list, click here.

At these prices, the Mahindra Bolero Neo is a more rugged alternative to the Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Nissan Magnite, and the Renault Kiger.
