Honda electric scooter launch is on track
Two Honda Benly e electric scooters have been spied testing in India yet again. The Benly e is considered to be the test vehicle of the pilot program by Honda in India to test its battery swapping tech and network.
This utilitarian electric scooter is focused on aiding the B2B delivery segment. And in the international markets, it is available in four variants: Benly e I, Benly e I Pro, Benly e II and Benly e II Pro. While the e I and e I Pro are electrified by a 2.8kW motor making 13Nm, the e II variants make use of a 4.2kW electric motor producing 15Nm. However, it is unclear as to which variant was spotted in India.

It sports Honda’s Mobile Power Pack swappable batteries, which are also being tested in India, and claim 87km of range on the e I variants, whereas the e II variants claim 43km range.
Coming to the sad bit, unfortunately, the Honda Benly e will not be launched here and is only being used as a test mule for the battery tech. For the Indian market, the Japanese marque will be building an EV from the ground up, and could that be the Honda Activa Electric? We shall find out soon enough.
Apart from this, Honda has also tied up with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) to set up multiple battery swapping stations across the country.
