Honda made quite an announcement during the launch of the Shine 100. Having disclosed its plans to give a modern touch to the Activa 6G, the marque also revealed it’ll be announcing its electric two-wheeler plans for India on March 29.
While the Japanese marque hasn’t exactly revealed what its first EV will be, it’ll likely take the form of a scooter. Since Honda’s most popular offering is the Activa, it only makes sense for the company to come up with an electric avatar of the same.
Moreover, Atsushi Ogata, President and CEO of Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India, also said the manufacturer will introduce its first electric scooter in 2024. So, what March 29 will likely bring is a small announcement about the same.
Talking about the Activa electric, it could be equipped with swappable batteries, given its partnership with HP. Once here, it’ll try to grab the market share of the likes of Okinawa and Hero Electric scooters, both in terms of pricing and performance.
