[UPDATE: The Yamaha FZ-X has been launched in India. To know the price, availability and the specifications, read or launch story]
Only 24 hours remain for Yamaha India’s first retro-styled motorcycle to officially break cover. The Yamaha FZ-X is slated to launch tomorrow, thus potentially becoming the most affordable retro bike that you can buy in the country.
That said, it is not going to be a conventionally retro bike, rather an Indianised-hipster version of the simple FZ-S Fi v3 commuter. After all, the engine, frame and integral components remain the same between the two bikes. The 149cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine will continue putting out 12.37PS and 13.6Nm, which is the least powerful motor in the 150-160cc space.

The FZ-X’s design is not entirely alien. Yamaha already builds the XSR155 for Southeast Asia and that is where the styling of the FZ-X is derived from. The round LED headlight, metal headlight mounting brackets, tear-drop shaped fuel tank, and the flat, stubby seat are all elements that we have already seen on the XSR155.
So do you fancy the FZ-X or is it a bit too much to grasp? Well, stay tuned to ZigWheels where we will be bringing all the details as soon as the FZ-X is launched tomorrow.
