Leaked: Ducati Scrambler 1100

Ducati's most powerful Scrambler is a masculine machine!

Ducati Scrambler 1100 Leaked

Pictures of the most powerful Ducati Scrambler yet have leaked on social media prior to its official world debut at the 2017 EICMA motorcycle show on November 7.

The fact that Ducati will be launching a new Scrambler variant isn’t big news as it is one of the worst-kept secrets in the two-wheeler industry. The new Ducati Scrambler 1100 was supposed to take the mantle of being the most powerful variant in the Scrambler family and was part of the 5 new bikes that were supposed to be unveiled by Ducati at the 2017 EICMA motorcycle show.

The Ducati Scrambler was a light and a nimble looking motorcycle, that isn’t the case with the new Scrambler 1100; it looks muscular and brawny with traits of the iconic Ducati Monster. The round headlamp, classically styled tank and curved saddle have been maintained on the new bike as seen on the standard Ducati Scrambler. However, the beefy USD front forks finished in gold, a larger motor that has tightly packed inside the frame, and the chunky twin exhaust mufflers poking from beneath the saddle give the new bike a butch and mean stance. Lot of traits from the Ducati Monster 1100 EVO have been carried forward on the new bike.

There’s no word on the power figures yet but it is safe to assume that the 1087cc, air-cooled L-twin will deliver around 110PS of power and will be mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The chassis on the new bike is larger than the standard Scrambler to accommodate the new powerplant and is a trellis unit. The rear swingarm is also beefier and the new motorcycle features twin Brembo disc brakes at the front as opposed to the single-unit on its smaller sibling. It will be interesting to see whether Ducati offers any electronic aids on the new motorcycle apart from ABS. The Ducati Scrambler 1100 has all the makings to be a fun and no-nonsense motorcycle and the bump in power should make it a hoot to ride. We will be reporting live from the 2017 EICMA motorcycle show and do make sure you follow ZigWheels for more updates.
