Volkswagen Offers Benefits With Vento Ahead Of Virtus Unveiling

After a 12-year run in India, the Volkswagen Vento's production is coming to an end soon. It will be replaced by the Virtus, its global unveiling scheduled on March 8. However, if you'd still like to own the solidly built Vento, there is some good news. The carmaker is offering benefits worth up to Rs 2.4 lakh on the sedan, but the exact break-up is not available. Currently, the Vento is available in the following trims: Highline, Highline Plus, and Matt Edition. All three come with the VW Group's 110PS 1-litre turbo-petrol engine, paired with a 6-speed manual and an optional 6-speed torque converter automatic.  

The sedan features LED headlights, a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected car tech (telematics only), automatic climate control, cruise control, keyless entry, all four power windows with one-touch up/down function, and auto wipers. 

Passenger safety is taken care of by up to four airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, and electronic stability control (AT only). 

The Volkswagen Vento is priced between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 14.44 lakh (ex-showroom), and it rivals the Hyundai Verna, Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, and the upcoming Skoda Slavia. 

In related news, Volkswagen is preparing to take the wraps off the Virtus, the Vento's replacement in India. It will be based on the localised MQB-A0-IN platform, and like the Vento, will be a petrol-only offering.
