Tata Altroz Celebrates Its Second Anniversary With More Dark Edition Variants

As the name suggests, the Altroz gets blacked-out add-ons

  • XT Dark Edition petrol is the most affordable Altroz Dark Edition variant at a premium of over Rs 47,000 over the standard XT petrol.

  • XZ+ Dark Edition now offered with the 1.5-litre diesel powertrain.

  • Dark Edition add-ons include a black body shade, tinted wheels, and an all-black cabin. XZ+ gets brake sway control and TPMS.

  • Tata Altroz continues to retail from Rs. 5.99 lakh to Rs 9.69 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The Tata Altroz premium hatchback turns two in 2022, and to celebrate the occasion, the carmaker has added the Dark Edition to the XT petrol and top-spec XZ+ diesel variants at prices starting from Rs 7.96 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This makes a total of four variants in the Dark Edition lineup aside from the XZ+ petrol and turbo-petrol.

The addition of the XT petrol to the Dark Edition range makes it the most affordable blacked-out Altroz you can buy, which is priced at a premium of Rs 47,000 over the standard XT. We’re yet to receive prices of the top-spec XZ+ Dark Edition diesel, but we expect a similar price premium against its standard counterpart that retails at Rs 9.69 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

As the name suggests, the Dark Edition adds a blacked-out look to the Altroz starting with a Cosmo Black exterior shade, black tint on the alloy wheels, as well as an all-black dashboard with gloss black accents. The seats get a black finish with a dark blue tri-arrow pattern, with the front headrests getting the ‘Dark’ badging. The steering wheel and gear knob are also wrapped in leather. For the top-spec XZ+, you’ll additionally get brake sway control, and a tyre pressure monitoring system. The remaining features in both the XT and XZ+ remain as is.

The Altroz can be specced with either a 86PS/113Nm 1.2-litre Revotron petrol, a 110PS/140Nm 1.2-litre turbo-petrol, and a 90PS/200Nm 1.5-litre diesel. All three motors are paired with a standard 5-speed manual gearbox.

The Tata Altroz retails from Rs. 5.99 lakh to Rs 9.69 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), and takes on the likes of the Hyundai i20, Honda Jazz, Volkswagen Polo, Toyota Glanza, and Maruti Suzuki Baleno.
