Glanza CNG is priced between Rs 8.43 lakh and Rs 9.46 lakh.
The Toyota Glanza is the second premium hatchback to get a CNG option in the country. For a premium of around Rs 1 lakh, CNG cars offer much better fuel economy and are environmentally friendly than petrol vehicles. But there is another cost to pay, and that is boot space, which takes a big hit in small cars due to the placement of the CNG tank.
The same applies to the Glanza CNG, where the tank (55-litre, water capacity) is fitted in the boot. However, thanks to a slightly deep boot in the hatchback, there’s actually a decent amount of space for a couple of soft bags. The presence of a spare wheel takes up some space too, but you can leave it at home provided there’s a backup option like a tyre puncture repair kit.
The Glanza CNG is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine developing 77.5PS in CNG mode. It drives the front wheels via a five-speed manual transmission. Toyota claims the Glanza CNG is capable of returning 30.61km/kg. And in terms of variant choices, the hatchback is offered in the mid-spec S and G (the one pictured here) trims.
You would have to shell out Rs 8.43 lakh for the CNG S trim, while the higher-end G trim would cost you Rs 9.46 lakh (ex-showroom). In its segment, the Glanza’s only rival is its sibling, the Maruti Baleno CNG, which also has an identical boot space.
