You Can Now Book The Toyota Glanza CNG At A Dealership

Select dealerships across the country have commenced bookings for the CNG variants of the Toyota Glanza. This suggests that the carmaker is imminently planning to launch the eco-friendly variants of the hatchback. The Glanza CNG will also be the first Toyota car to get a factory fit CNG kit in India.

Earlier, a Delhi RTO document has revealed that the CNG premium hatchback will be offered in three trims: S, G, and V. The base-spec E trim will miss on the powertrain. However, brownie points to Toyota for the fact that the CNG option could be offered in the top-spec trim with all the bells and whistles.

Top-spec variants of the Glanza come loaded with features such as a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, a head-up display, cruise control, and keyless entry with push button start. Safety is taken care of by six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, and hill start assist.

Underneath the hood, the Glanza will get the same 1.2-litre petrol engine; however, power will be dropped to 77PS in CNG mode, a drop of 13PS compared to petrol mode. It will be offered only with a five-speed manual transmission. The AMT will be limited to the petrol-only models.

Toyota could charge you a premium of around a lakh for the Glanza CNG over the standard petrol-only model. This, along with the upcoming Maruti Baleno CNG, could be the first CNG-powered model in the segment.
