The Suzuki S-Cross once again makes an appearance, this time round at the ongoing 2015 Shanghai Motor Show
There has been a lot of buzz around the soon to be launched in India Maruti Suzuki S-Cross. Spy shots have been making their rounds on the internet, scatter information is getting circulated and now it has been showcased at the 2015 Shanghai Auto Show.
The Maruti Suzuki S-Cross is a crossover hatchback and is already on sale in the international markets. In India it will be offered in petrol as well as diesel variants. In the international market the S-Cross sports a 1.6-litre petrol unit, but here in India we will get the same 1.4-litre petrol engine that we have already seen on the Ertiga. In that state of tune it pumps 95PS of power and makes 130Nm of torque. The diesel S-Cross makes use of a 1.3-litre unit that produces power of 90PS and 200Nm of torque.
As far as the looks are concerned, an undisguised Maruti Suzuki S-Cross was spotted recently in India. Similar to the one showcased at the 2015 Shanghai Motor Show, this one too gets a three slat chrome grille with projector type headlights on either side of it. The S-Cross like all the other crossovers on sale currently, sports body claddings across the perimeter of the car to give it a bolder more rugged appearance. At the back the taillights get chrome accents. Other features include, button start, reverse parking sensors and steering mounted controls.
In the Chinese market the Suzuki S-Cross costs Rs 11-15 lakh but here in India it is expected to be priced marginally cheaper between Rs 7-11 lakh. While there is no official confirmation about its launch as yet, we expect it to be launched in June 2015.
