We had reported a few weeks ago that Maruti Suzuki was planning to introduce new features to its S-Cross crossover. Well, Maruti has done just that but there is a twist to the tale as well. The prices of the car have been hiked as well.

New features introduced include a speed alert system, which is likely to become mandatory for all cars in the future. Also new are a seatbelt reminder for the front passenger seat as well as rear parking sensors. The aforementioned features are now offered as standard. Dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and ISOFIX child seat mounts were already a part of the standard package.

Apart from this, the Delta variant gets major updates in the form of 16-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry with smart key and push button start/stop. It also gets climate control, electrically foldable ORVMs with turn indicators, cruise control and rear wash/wipe with defogger. Other variants remain unchanged.

As for the price hike, it ranges between Rs 12,000 for the Alpha variant and Rs 54,000 for the Delta variant. The pattern is quite similar to that of Toyota Fortuner and the Innova Crysta, both of which received a price revision recently. In our opinion, an addition of Rs 54,000 for the Delta variant is justified as the updates are quite major and make it a better value for money proposition. Unfortunately, same cannot be said for the Zeta variant as its price has been hiked by Rs 46,000 with no change to the features list.
