MG’s flagship SUV, the Gloster, hopes to take on the might of the Ford Endeavour and Toyota Fortuner with a segment-first twin-turbo diesel engine

After revealing the Gloster’s engine specifications and feature list earlier this week, Morris Garages has now announced that it has commenced pre-launch bookings for its flagship SUV. Here’s a closer look at the upcoming SUV’s variants, colour options and seating options:
First, The Seating Layout:
The Gloster will be offered with two seating layouts: a six seater and seven seater. The six seater variant utilises captain seats for the middle row occupants while the seven seater version comes with a bench seat. Third row occupants get a bench seat on both variants.
What Are The Variants On Offer?
The MG Gloster will come in four variants: Super, Sharp, Smart and Savvy. All variants come with different seating arrangements.

The base-spec Gloster will be offered as a 7-seater variant while the Sharp variant can be had with either six or seven seats. In fact, Sharp is the only variant that can be had with both seating options. The Smart and Savvy variants will be offered with six seats. That means, you can’t have the top-spec Gloster Savvy with the more practical 7-seater layout.
Gloster Engine Options:
The MG Gloster is offered with two engine options: a 163PS turbo-diesel and a 218PS twin-turbo diesel, both displacing 2.0-litre. The single turbo diesel engine is offered with rear-wheel drive only while the more powerful unit drives all four wheels. Both engines are offered with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Again, these two engines are offered only on select variants.

The MG Gloster will come with four colour options: Warm White, Agate Red, Metal Black and Metal Ash.
