More images of the forthcoming new crossover, the Maruti S-Cross, have leaked online ahead of its official launch. Once launched, the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross will lock horns with the Hyundai i20 Active, Toyota Etios Cross and the Fiat Avventura. The new S-Cross is expected to be priced at around Rs 6-9 lakh.
Maruti Suzuki’s much awaited crossover – the S-Cross has been snapped testing several times. The company had officially pulled the wraps off its new car at the International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) which was held in Malaysia. This time around some more images of the much hyped car have surfaced on the web.
The new Maruti S-Cross gets a chrome finished two-slat grille flanked by massive projector type headlamps with Daytime Running Lights. The forthcoming new crossover boasts of an aggressive profile with black cladding that runs across the wheel arches and doors. The taillamps get chrome accents and the car rides on 16-inch alloy wheels. The car comes equipped with features such as button start, reverse parking sensors and steering mounted controls.
The S-Cross will be offered in both petrol and diesel engine options. A 1.4-litre unit that churns out 95PS of power and 130Nm of torque and a 1.6-litre Fiat-sourced Multijet engine unit that delivers 118PS of power and 320Nm of torque will do duty under the upcoming new S-Cross, according to reports. Internationally, the S-Cross also comes with a 1.6-litre petrol unit that is mated to a CVT and in an AWD trim, but we will have to wait and see if it is brought to the Indian shores.
