BS6 Tata Hexa Safari Edition Unveiled At Auto Expo 2020

• The Tata Hexa Safari Edition will come with tougher bumpers and blacked out alloy wheels.
• Inside, the Hexa Safari edition will come with a black-beige scheme.
• The Hexa will utilise the existing 2.2-litre Varicor engine, albeit with BS6 upgrades.
• Standard variants with automatic and rear wheel wheel drive will be available too.

Tata Motors has revealed the Hexa Safari Edition at Auto Expo 2020. Based on the Hexa 4x4, it features a mild cosmetic update and an upgraded BS6-compliant diesel engine. Further, the carmaker will retain the Hexa nametag in the BS6 era with an updated powertrain. The Tata Hexa Safari Edition will be launched later in 2020. 

Visually, the Hexa Safari Edition looks similar to the current model apart from a few upgrades. Highlights include a tougher bumpers, blacked-out 17-inch alloy wheels and Safari Edition badging at the rear. Further, all the chrome elements have been replaced by blacked-out elements, giving it a stealthy look. 

Inside, the Hexa Safari Edition’s dashboard is similar to the current model, the only change being the new black-beige colour scheme. There’s a Safari Edition badge to remind you that it’s the more special car.  

Under the hood, the Hexa Safari Edition utilises the 2.2-litre Varicor motor, albeit with BS6 upgrades. In its upgraded form, we expect it to develop 154PS of power and 400Nm of torque. The Safari Edition will be available with a 6-speed manual and all-wheel-drive. Meanwhile, the standard model will be available with a 6-speed automatic and manual options with rear wheel drive.  

The Tata Hexa Safari Edition is expected to be launched post April 2020. Considering it’s been updated to BS6 norms, expect it to cost more than the existing model, which starts from Rs 13.70 lakh (ex-showroom). The BS6 Tata Hexa will lock horns with the Toyota Innova Crysta and Mahindra Marazzo.
