Volkswagen Delivers 5000 Units Of Virtus Sedan Since Launch

The compact sedan has also created two records for the highest number of deliveries in a day in India

  • Volkswagen completes over 5,000 deliveries of Virtus in over two months.

  • The Virtus is available with two turbocharged petrol engine options.

  • Virtus is also offered on a subscription basis in the country.

Since its launch in June, the Volkswagen Virtus has become one of the highest-selling cars in its segment. In just over two months, Volkswagen has delivered over 5,000 units of the Virtus, a decent figure given the fact that sales in the compact sedan segment have been despondent for a while.

Apart from the total number of deliveries, Volkswagen also created its first national record by handing over 150 units of the Virtus sedan to customers in a single day in Kerala. This achievement put the German marque’s name in the India Book of Records and the Asia Book of Records.

The Volkswagen Virtus is available in two broad trims: Dynamic Line and Performance Line. Engine options on offer include a 1-litre turbo-petrol (making 115PS and 178Nm) and a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol (150PS and 250Nm).

While the three-pot gets a six-speed manual transmission and a six-speed automatic, the larger motor is offered with a seven-speed DCT (dual-clutch automatic) only.

In terms of features, the sedan comes with a 10-inch infotainment system, an eight-inch digital driver display, ventilated front seats, up to six airbags and electronic stability control.
