Here Are The Specifications Of The Upcoming Kawasaki W175

There are a couple of interesting changes when compared with the Indonesian model

After Kawasaki officially teased the W175’s launch in India, a brochure with the specifications of the W175 got leaked on the Japanese marque’s official website.

As the leaked photo shows, the W175 is powered by a 177cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that makes 13PS and 13.2Nm and is mated to a five-speed gearbox. Interestingly, these are the same figures as the Indonesian-spec bike, despite it being a carbureted bike, while the one coming to India is fuel-injected.

Along with that, the India-spec model gets 17-inch wheels at both ends with skinny 80- and 100-section rubber at the front and rear, respectively, once again the same as the Indonesia-spec W175. But, there are some major changes in other aspects of the two bikes.

Weighing 135kg, the India-spec W175 weighs a substantial 9kg more than its Indonesian counterpart. That said, the Indian bike will get a 270mm disc brake at the front, 50mm larger than the Indonesian bike’s front disc. Other changes include a 10mm higher seat at 790mm and a two-litre smaller fuel tank, with a holding capacity of 12 litres.

We expect Kawasaki to price the W175 around the Rs 1.75 lakh (ex-showroom) mark.  While the price sounds like a lot for what the bike has to offer, it’ll still be Kawasaki’s most affordable bike in India. Once here, it will rival the Yamaha FZ-X. The W175 could also act as a smaller-engined yet less affordable rival to the Royal Enfield Bullet 350.
