It will be the first cruiser based on Enfield’s 650cc platform
Yet again, the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 has been spied in an almost production-ready avatar. Spy shots of the cruiser have been making rounds on the Internet for two years now, and thanks to them, we have seen the bike throughout its development stage.
There is no doubt that the twin cylinder motorcycle gets quite a cruiser-style design language featuring a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, wide handlebars, forward-set footpegs and an upright seating position. For a more detailed analysis of the design, check out this story.
What about the powertrain? Well, the Super Meteor 650 will be powered by the same 648cc, twin cylinder, air-oil-cooled heart as the Continental GT 650 and Interceptor 650. To know about the bike’s expected power and torque figures and to hear its exhaust note, head to this story.

In terms of underpinnings, the Super Meteor flaunts a USD fork instead of the telescopic unit seen on its siblings. The rear gets dual shock absorbers and braking is done via discs at both ends. The cruiser was spied testing earlier fully loaded with accessories.
The bike looks ready to hit the production line and is expected to debut by mid-2023. Expect Enfield to price the Super Meteor 650 at Rs 3.5 lakh (ex-showroom), which would make it the marque’s most expensive offering. It will go up against the Kawasaki Vulcan S in India.
